About The Salvos
Thank you for standing with the Salvos to support people in our community who are facing hardship and disadvantage. By supporting our work you are joining a team of thousands who are also dedicated to being there for people when they need us the most.
While the Salvos have a long history of caring for Australians, our ability to meet needs, provide solutions and evolve our services for a community that continues to change in the future, will only be possible because of our loyal supporters and amazing frontline teams.
If you are new to the Salvos you might not know that we are one of the nation’s largest welfare providers.
Each year the Salvos reach out to assist more than one million people struggling with a wide range of challenges.
We work in the areas of greatest need including homelessness, community support, family violence and emergency and disaster relief.
This work is made possible through the generous support of the community and donations made to ensure we can continue to be there for people at their time of need. ‘On the ground’ support is critical for assisting people facing crisis and we have thousands of people working across Australia dedicated to providing a wide range of practical and emotional care for all Australians.
We value our people – our supporters, our service delivery teams and importantly the people we serve are all part of what makes the Salvos who we are today.
By sharing a few stories from our services in the community we hope you can appreciate the amazing work you are part of and the real outcomes and significant impact this work has on the lives of thousands of people every day who need a helping hand.
Thank you for making what we do possible.
